We are fast approaching the halfway mark of Term 3. We have hopefully dealt with the worst of the winter weather without too many issues, apart from the consequences of jumping in muddy puddles (Peppa Pig would be proud). Fortunately, students have been able to be outside for most of the recess and lunch breaks enjoying mixing with their peers and enjoying our beautiful environment.
Around the State attendance is down from previous years. I appreciate that where children are unwell parents have been supporting school by keeping their children home. Where a student is well and able to attend it is critical that they do. Gaps in learning emerge where students miss significant periods of school and prolonged absences also impact on creating and maintaining friendships. Please notify the office if your child is unable to attend school. Where there have been prolonged absences families may be required to provide a medical certificate.
I am continuing to meet with families keen on enrolments at Campania in 2023. Please contact the office to arrange a meeting and a tour of the school if you haven’t done so yet. Pre-Kinder will be starting up in Term 4. This is a great opportunity for your child to become familiar with the school and their teacher for 2023.
We are busy working with our students in Year 10 on their transition plans. Some of our Year 10 students are planning to stay at Campania to continue their post year 10 studies. Others are exploring options at our teggana schools (Rosny, Sorell, Bayview, Triabunna, Clarence, Rose Bay and Tasman). We are also supporting students and families to explore options at Claremont College and Elizabeth College.
To help families who are interested in finding out more about our Year 7-10 offerings, as well as to provide additional information for the families of Year 9 and 10 students with options for post year 10 studies and apprenticeships (both at Campania and other schools) we are holding our Campania District School Secondary Information Evening on Tuesday 20th of September. This will run from 6pm to 7:30pm in our PAC.
