The Reclink footy group played against a tough Oatlands team on Tuesday the 30th of May. Oatlands were the winners on the day. As well as the footy, on the 30th of May some of the students, years 7-10 participated in the inter-high cross country at Rosny golf course. The students were great representatives of our school.
The SPSSA Primary Cross Country was held on Wednesday the 7th of June at Bayview Secondary College. We did not win, but we did come 11th overall and all students tried their hardest.
The Reclink basketball program has been happening on Monday for selected students from Grade 3-10. Students have been enjoying it & are learning lots of new skills from Danyon who works with the Jack Jumpers.
We have recently had the gym floor resurfaced. It looks fantastic, and the students are loving it. A big thankyou to Nell for all your hard work and hours put into organising it.
Beacon ran their Polish program at Campania District School on Monday, June 5 for students in years 9-11. This interactive workshop looked at the skills employers are looking for when hiring young people. Focus areas included the importance of networking, social skills, building personal ‘brand’, and communication. The day concluded with mentors conducting mock interviews and providing valuable feedback on how to improve their performance during this stressful time. Thanks, Mrs Kingston for working with Beacon to organise this program for our school.
Measurement in the Gr 3/4 class
This term, students in Grade 3/4 have been learning all about measurement. Students have been exploring capacity and had a great time testing out their measuring skills to make jelly.
Our Gr7/8 class this term have been making treasure boxes down at the Mill. The students have been using different tools and techniques. We can’t wait to see the finished product.

Vaping and young people
The rising number of children and young people vaping is a growing issue of concern in our community.
Electronic cigarettes (vapes) can be appealing to young people due to bright colours and flavours. But no vapes are safe as they are often full of harmful chemicals and nicotine. For this reason, vapes can be addictive and harmful for lungs, brain development and general health.
It is important to talk to your children about vaping. Try to be understanding, compassionate and non-judgemental as you support them to learn more about the dangers of vaping or in seeking support to quit.
Information on what vaping is, the impacts and how to support your child is available on the new Department for Education, Children and Young People webpage on vaping, which can be accessed here:
