What has been happening since our last newsletter?
Last week on the 19th of September we had our Footy Colours Day. We raised $120 for the Fight Cancer Foundation. Thank you for all the donations, everyone looked amazing. Unfortunately, we couldn’t complete the afternoon activities due to poor weather.
BBQ Monday for all students and Fun Friday for secondary students has been running over the past two weeks. Last Friday secondary classes competed in a flippy cup challenge. Congratulations to the grade 9s for winning. This Friday there will be a Kahoot challenge, the winning class from all the competitions will get an ice cream on Friday.
On Tuesday 26th of September grade 3-10 students had their swimming carnival at the Oatlands Pool. The results will be in the next newsletter. Thank you, Mrs parker for organising the carnival.
On Friday the 15th of September two student leaders, Bella and Mikaela, along with Miss Smith were invited to attend lunch with the Governor of Tasmania, Her Excellency, the Honourable Barbara Baker AC. The girls were fantastic representatives of our school and enjoyed a short chat with the Governor.
A friendly reminder that students from grades K-6 need to wear a blue hat in Term 4. Hats are available to purchase from the school office. Kinder to Grade 4 students need a wide brimmed or other hat with neck protection. Grade 5-6 students are able to wear a blue cap.
Have a happy and safe holiday. We look forward to seeing everyone next term!
Woodbridge Marine Discovery Center
The 3/4 class had an amazing day at Woodbridge Marine Discovery Centre last Wednesday. Students got to experience virtual reality goggles, feeding/patting the shark and skate, playing in the touch tanks, looking at the underwater cameras and investigating living samples underneath the microscopes.
Last Tuesday the Grade 9s dissected a bull’s eye to improve their understanding of the nervous system.
